In its recently unveiled "Latin American Guide 2012", Chambers and Partners, the leading directory of the legal profession in the world, recognized AMG as one of the top Puerto Rico law firms.
The London based ranking publisher noted that AMG "handles tax matters for an impressive array of multinational clients", and regarded Fernando Goyco-Covas as "a highly regarded tax specialist." Mr. Goyco-Covas is also one of only two Puerto Rico corporate tax lawyers ranked "Band 1" by Chambers, for the second year in a row.
The Corporate/Commercial Group was also praised, and Chambers wrote that the firm "handles high-end work". Shareholder Nikos Buxeda-Ferrer was cited as an "up and coming lawyer" who is "knowledgeable" and has "considerable transactional experience."
The Real Estate Practice was noted as providing "comprehensive advice on a range of real estate issues, ranging from transactions and foreclosures to contract negotiations [which] represents high-profile lending and banking institutions, general contractors, architects, engineers and developers."
AMG's Litigation Practice Group was also paid tribute for its "growing presence in the market and a strong track record of handling complex civil and commercial litigation". Chambers acknowledged that "This is a high-quality litigation firm in Puerto Rico." It singled out shareholder Eric Pérez-Ochoa, the chair of the department, as an "expert in franchise law."
