Pedro A. Jiménez-Rodríguez
Pedro Jiménez-Rodríguez concentrates on civil, commercial, securities, antitrust and financial litigation in both state and federal courts, and also has ample experience in complex commercial and class action litigation, securities arbitration, corporate control litigation, complex construction disputes, distributorship and franchise litigation, and alternate dispute resolution. He has also advised financial institutions on regulatory compliance under the Bank Secrecy Act.
He has represented both securities firms and their clients in New York Stock Exchange arbitration, chaired the negotiating team for a multinational corporation in a contentious competitive bidding process for a multibillion-dollar infrastructure operation project, and represented local and international financial institutions in Bank Secrecy Act and internal client investigations. Mr Jiménez-Rodríguez has also represented defendants in class actions and multi-district litigations, acted on behalf of national accounting firm in corporate and government auditing disputes, advised corporate clients in international litigation, and has had involvement in corporate disputes requiring coordination of simultaneous lawsuits in several U.S. and international jurisdictions.
Publications and Seminars:
Mr. Jiménez-Rodríguez has appeared as guest speaker in various seminars hosted by Puerto Rico financial institutions and by the Puerto Rico Bankers Association regarding regulatory compliance under the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering regulatory obligations, and has also been a speaker in training seminars for a "big-four" auditing firm regarding the adoption of internal practices to minimize potential liability and prevention of litigation.
