Ricardo Muñiz

Ricardo Muñiz is a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Internal Revenue and a former Acting Director of the Puerto Rico Office of Industrial Tax Exemption. 

He graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico, and from the University of Puerto Rico Law School.  He obtained a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University. 

Mr. Muñiz has been practicing tax law in Puerto Rico for over 25 years and is a recognized authority on Puerto Rico tax law, mergers and acquisitions, financing institutions, insurance, estate planning and the federal taxation of Puerto Rico persons.  He co-directs the Corporate and Tax Department. 

Mr. Muñiz has been president of the Puerto Rico Financial Analysts Association, a director of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of its Tax Committee.  He is a frequent speaker on Puerto Rico tax matters and has published tax articles in Puerto Rico and United States tax periodicals.
