Tax and Estate Planning Department

The Tax and Estate Planning Department is directed by Mr. Ricardo Muñiz. Mr. Fernando Goyco-Covas, Mr. César Rosario and Ms. Vanessa Raffucci are the other partners of this Department. Ms. Caridad Muñiz-Padilla is the Department's associate attorney.

Our tax attorneys combine their corporate and tax expertise to assist our clients in structuring complex business transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, and private and public debt and equity issues.  Corporate reorganizations, retirement and deferred compensation plans, and Puerto Rico’s tax incentive programs, are other areas of expertise of our tax lawyers.  Our tax department defends our clients from tax deficiencies at the administrative level, and joins our litigators in litigating such deficiencies in the local courts. 

Our tax group also excels in estate planning.  Estate planning minimizes, and in many instances practically eliminates, the United States and Puerto Rico estate taxes on earned, accumulated and inherited wealth.  Our experience in estate planning, wills, trusts, inheritances, and estate and gift taxes, combined with our broad knowledge and experience in Puerto Rico and US federal tax matters has significantly contributed to the preservation of our clients’ income and wealth.
